Eastern Wisconsin Beef Producers and Promoters 2012 scholarship winners
Six recipients were awarded mid-term scholarships, to be granted in the spring semester of 2013, from the Eastern Wisconsin Beef Producers and Promoters (EWBPP).
The recipients are:
• Samuel Arndt - Arndt graduated from Beaver Dam High School in June 2010 and attends the University of Wisconsin-Platteville studying Agricultural Business Management with a minor in Accounting. He is the son of Duane and Janet, charter members of the EWBPP association. They have a Cross-bred cow-calf operation and also raise some Holstein feeder steers. Arndt has been a 4-H and FFA officer, has participated in livestock judging and is active in his church. He works for AniMart and continues to be involved in livestock projects and education.
• Sabrina Boehlke - Boehlke will graduate from Kewaskum High School in June 2012. She plans to attend Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon in the fall to major in Video Media Productions. She is the daughter of Royal and Linda, charter members of the EWBPP association. They raise Angus cattle and a variety of livestock and poultry. She is involved in 4-H, FFA, church and many community groups and hopes her education will lead her to a fulfilling career that will allow her to grow in knowledge and experiences.
• Tiffany Born - Born graduated from Plymouth Comprehensive High School in June 2010 and attends the University of Wisconsin-Platteville studying Accounting. She is the daughter of Jeff and Karla, members of the EWBPP association. They have a Cross-bred cow-calf operation, Holstein feeders and Appaloosa horses. She has been an FFA officer and has achieved the American Degree. She plans to finish her education and obtain her CPA and raise cattle.
• Justin Lillesand - Lillesand graduated from Howards Grove High School in June 2011 and attends Black Hawk East in Galva, IL, studying Animal Science. He is the son of EJ and Lisa, charter members of the EWBPP association. They have a Cross-bred cow-calf operation. Lillesand has been a 4-H and FFA officer and works at a 200-head beef operation. He is considering training as a veterinarian and is interested in an embryo transfer program. He would also like to continue to raise cattle.
• Evan Rathke - Rathke will graduate from Random Lake High School in June 2012. He plans to attend Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon in the fall to major in Sport Management. He is the son of Steve and Jackie, charter members of the EWBPP association. They have a beef cattle herd. Rathke has been a 4-H and FFA officer and has participated in livestock judging; he is also active in sports and community groups. He hopes to complete his degree, play college and professional basketball and raise cattle.
• Kallie Schoessow - Schoessow graduated from Homestead High School in June 2009 and attends the University of Wisconsin-Platteville studying Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education with a minor in inclusion. She is the daughter of Kurt and Cary, charter members of the EWBPP association. They have a cow-calf operation and a feedlot. Schoessow was a member of 4-H, is active in church and community groups and works with Blackstone Cattle Company. She hopes to find a teaching job and raise cattle.
