Dinner on the Farm being served on June 25
For the second consecutive year, the Village Hearthstone restaurant of Hilbert will be serving an on-the-farm dinner with a menu featuring locally grown foods.
This year's event will be held on Tuesday, June 25 at the Meuer Farm (Dave and Leslie) off Highway 151 (N2564) just to the north of this unincorporated southwestern Calumet County village near the east short of Lake Winnebago.
The 6 p.m. dinner will be followed with a hay wagon ride through the woods, grazing paddocks, and beehive area of the farm.
Meuer Farm was recently honored as the 2013 Wisconsin Agricultural Tourism Association's business of the year. The 150-acre farm is home to a small beef cow/calf herd. Strawberries and other farm market crops are grown and a large corn maze is a major attraction in the autumn.
Plans for the yet to be completed menu for June 25 include an herbal champagne cooler, Hearth bread, and Pate Maison with rhubarb chutney. Five more courses are planned, concluding with a dessert made with strawberries harvested on the Meuer Farm shortly before the event.
Tickets for the evening are $39 per person. This includes the glass of champagne, tax, and gratuity. Any other beverages will have an additional charge.
Reservations are required for the dinner. To reserve, call Village Hearthstone chief chef Tracy or Christopher at 920-853-3013.
