Curious about the Charter School in Fox Lake? Have a child entering grades K-7? Wonder how agriculture and environmental science are intertwined with reading, writing, and math?
If so, make plans to attend SAGES Fest — the School for AGricultural & Environmental Studies' (SAGES') Open House — on Saturday, March 8 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This special annual event offers informational guided tours, educational displays, interactive learning, as well as light food items to enjoy.
Visitors can journey among SAGES' hallways on a guided tour featuring student projects and the various learning areas from classrooms and computer lab to the critter and community rooms. Guided tours are student-led and occur throughout the day.
Other event highlights include hands-on learning activities, such as planting seeds in the library, helping build wood duck houses, racing potato cars and trying out technology. SAGES' Governance Board Members, as well as SAGES Foundation and Parent Teacher (PTO) members will also be on hand to greet guests, share current efforts, and answer questions.
This special event hosted at the School for AGricultural & Environmental Studies (SAGES) at 200 South Depot Street, Fox Lake, on March 8, and is open to everyone — parents with children considering enrollment, prospective partners, local agriculturists and environmental scientists, or anyone with a passion and interest in education.
