Kelley Country Creamery offers new flavors and dairy holiday gifts

Dec. 13, 2012 | 0 comments

This holiday, start a tradition by having Kelley Country Creamery premium farmstead ice cream as a part of the family celebrations.

Whether seeking old-fashioned, hand-dipped ice cream for seasonal entertaining, holiday desserts or gifts, Kelley Country Creamery will make a merry and memorable holiday. When choosing Kelley Country Creamery visitors are supporting locally owned and operated family farms.

Karen Kelley, the family creamsmith, makes more than 200-plus flavors and will delight visitors with holiday flavors, including: Heidi's Holiday Mint, Peppermint Bark, Christmas Pudding (fruitcake ice cream), Egg Nog, Caramel Pretzel Cluster, Hot Chocolate, Chocolate Andes, Chocolate Mint and Sugar Gem, the flavor of the month. Sugar Gem is a cookie dough ice cream with mini sugar gem cookies and sprinkles.

For celebration-worthy desserts Kelley's handmade ice cream pies and cakes are available. If looking to light up the room, a mini reindeer ice cream pie decorated like Rudolph will get the attention of guests.

Kelley's can create customized holiday ice cream pies and cakes. A favorite pie of the Kelley family includes a chocolate crust, fudge middle layer between Heidi's Holiday Mint ice cream and Peppermint Bark ice cream topped off with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle.

Kelley's can simplify holiday shopping with gift packs for the ice cream-lover on the list. Each gift pack will include a gift card to redeem the ice cream of one's choice.

The Cooler and a Gallon gift pack is for the ultimate ice cream fan. The pack features a cooler and two half gallons of any Kelley ice cream along with an ice cream scoop.

The Cooler and a Half pack offers a cooler, two quarts ice cream and a scoop.

The six-pint Sampler features six pints of ice cream and a scoop.

The Five half Pints gift pack offers five Kelley half pints of ice cream and a scoop.

When shopping for the family at the Creamery, have a Kelley Holiday Pig-Out Sundae. - a sweet and savory sensation of Maple Bacon ice cream, homemade bacon peanut brittle, caramel, whipped cream and a cherry topped off with a gummy pig.

For the cheese-lover on the list, give the gift of good taste with a Timothy Farmhouse Cheddar Cheese Gift Box. The Kelley's latest venture, Timothy Cheddar is an artisan cheese, made with milk from the family's 65-cow dairy herd.

Like Kelley Kurds, Timothy Cheddar Cheese is crafted by U.S. Champion Cheesemaker Katie Hedrich and available at the Creamery. The small cheese box includes: Kelley Kurds, Timothy Cheddar Mild Cheese and Timothy Cheddar Medium Cheese.

The Large Cheese Box is perfect for the artisan cheese and butter fan on the list. This gift box features the cheeses of the small gift box, plus Baker String Cheese and Nordic Creamery Butter.

Pick up great stocking stuffers from Creamery T-shirts and sweatshirts to an array of holiday candy treats as well.

This season, stop by and meet Tim and Karen Kelley, along with their five children, who own and operate the Creamery. The milk from the 65 dairy cows on the Kelley family farm is hand-crafted into old-fashioned premium ice cream at the farmstead creamery. Through a viewing window in the ice cream parlor visitors can watch milk be made into ice cream.

The Creamery is located six miles south of Fond du Lac, just one mile east of Hwy. 41 on County Road B at W5215 County Road B. It is open Wednesday thru Sunday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. through Dec. 31, and closed January and February.
