Four-year-old wins 2013 Wisconsin Jersey Spring Spectacular

A 4-year-old Jersey, K&M Comerica Ginny-ET, stole the spotlight at the 2013 Wisconsin Jersey Spring Spectacular, April 27 in Viroqua, when she was named senior and grand champion as well as best udder for owners Budjon Farms & Peter Vail, Lomira. This duo also brought out the high honorable mention grand champion, Ratliff Remake Morgan-ET, a senior 3-year-old who earlier in the day was named reserve intermediate champion.

Ron & Christy Ratliff, of Kansas, also found themselves in the winner circle several times throughout the day, as judge Robert Yeoman of Dover, OK, tapped their senior 3-year-old, Woodmohr Mini Aspen, for reserve grand champion and intermediate champion honors. She was one of many high-placing animals that helped the Ratliffs earn both the coveted Premier Breeder and Exhibitor banners.

The reserve senior champion of the open show as well as senior and grand champion of the junior show and champion bred and owned of the junior show went to Taylor Leach and her 4-year-old, LC Miss America.

Recognized as the junior champion was Woodmohr Verbatim Fame, a winter yearling bred and owned by Woodmohr Jerseys. Janell Renee Remington captured double honors when her fall calf, Gil-Bar Louie Sadi, walked away with reserve junior champion of the open show and junior champion of the junior show.

In other junior competition, reserve grand and senior champion honors were awarded to Hope, Tanner & Peyton Morrison with Elliotts Valiant Raquel-ET, the first-place 5-year-old. The Morrisons also received the Premier Exhibitor banner in the junior show.

Reserve junior champion went to J Volker, J Steinlage & D Kruse and their prize-winning spring yearling, Schulte Bros Giller Glory-ET.

Judge Yeoman placed 220 head; the top two placings, followed by the junior-owned animals were as follows:

Sumnmer Yearling (16) - Gil-Bar RM Jessie, Gil-Bar Farm; Discoverys Minister Bella Vista, Kevin Krejci & Lisa Demmer; Earhardt-Lager Iatola Sunset-ET, Brianna, Krista, Matthew & Austin Hall; Big Time Governot Devine Lady, Matt Linehan.
