The Family Living Committee of Farm Technology Days 2013 has recognized Evie Vreeland and Dedra Demers of Miller's Cheese House of Rice Lake for their work in merchandising the committee's cookbook, "Blending the Tastes of Generations".
Their business has sold more than 120 copies of the book since the end of July. Overall, Barron County Farm Technology Days has sold 3000 copies of their official cookbook.
The book features nearly 1,000 recipes, running the gamut from Belgian waffles to laundry detergents to skunk smell pet wash, but emphasizing the greatest cooking in this area, all this for just $15.
The third edition is now available and makes a great Christmas gift for someone who has everything, especially the elderly since it contains historical photos and stories of Barron County from the "mound builder" aborigines thousands of years ago to the Indians to the loggers and then the farmers.
A list of local vendors can be found on the Barron County Farm Tech website.
For anyone who cannot find it locally, they can order from the website at www.barronfarmtech.com and click on the cookbook order form.
The Farm Technology Days (FTD) cookbooks, along with official FTD tee shirts, sweatshirts, and plush animals toys can be purchased at the Barron County UW-Extension Office on Friday, Dec. 14 from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
